Glendale to host the 2009 TELUS Edmonton Open
Edmonton, AB - Linx Marketing and the Canadian Tour are pleased to announce that the Glendale Golf & Country Club will host the 2009 TELUS Edmonton Open - June 29th to July 5th. Glendale will be hosting the event for the fourth time since 1998, more than any other course in Edmonton.
Glendale has hosted perhaps the three most exciting tournaments in TELUS Edmonton Open history - 1998, 2002 and 2006 - all three of these tournaments required playoff holes to crown a champion. The course layout at Glendale is designed for tournament golf - lightning fast greens, long and tough par 3's and perhaps the best finishing 5 holes in Alberta.
Canadian Tour alumni have won 92 times on the PGA TOUR and over $400 million in career earnings. It's graduates are among the top-ranked players in the world including Mike Weir, Paul Casey, Steve Stricker, Stuart Appleby, Tim Clark and Stephen Ames. In the past five years alone, the Canadian Tour has graduated an average of 14 players to the Nationwide Tour and PGA TOUR, more than any single golf circuit in the world.
